Instructions for bridging on Halo 2 -
First you have to install cain software. just go here : http://www.oxid.it/cain.html
When you get to the link above, make sure you choose the second blue link. Then when the pop-up comes up you press run
and when you have everything installed, minimize the software ( cain ) youve just installed and go back to this tutorial.
Next you have to install Zone Labs Security software. just go here : http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/company/products/znalm/freeDownload.jsp?dc=12bms&ctry=US&lang=en
When you go to the link above, make sure you choose the second blue link ( again ). Then when the pop-up comes up you
press run ( again ). Once you have everything installed, minimize the software ( Zone Labs Security ) youve just installed
and go back to this tutorial.
* TIP *
When installing cain it will ask you to install another program. ( Abel i think ) . when it asks you if you want to
install that too, just click yes.
Now you have all the programs needed. what you do next is go to Cain ( the first software you installed ) and open it.
when cain is opened, you should see 8 tabs that you can click on. click on the SNIFFER tab. the sniffer tab is located right
next to network, and also next to LSA secrets. Once you have clicked on SNIFFER, Look at the top. There should be a picture
of a folder, ( right under where it says file ). Right next to that folder, you should see a little green picture with a
little red arrow sticking out of it. and next to that, you should see a picture of a little yellow circle with black triangles
in it.
**** CLICK ON THE LITTLE GREEN PICTURE ****
When you click on the little green picture, nothing should happen, but two little pictures to the right of the little
green picture there should be a big blue cross.
**** CLICK ON THE BIG BLUE CROSS NOW ****
Okay now once you press the cross, something should pop up. MAKE SURE that the only thing clicked on is the very top
little circle that says ( ALL HOSTS IN MY SUBNET )
Once you have MADE SURE that the only thing clicked is all hosts in my subnet, click OK. that screen should go away and
for about three or for seconds another little screen should pop up and it should have a little bar that fills up really fast.
( youll know if you doing it right ).
Now, at the VERY BOTTOM of the Cain screen, there should be 5 tabs that you can click on. if you see it, click on the
APR tab. It should be the second tab in the line of tabs next to hosts. When you click on the APR tab at the bottom, it should
split the CAIN screen into two different sections. Click Anywhere in the top section where it should say Idle with three
little computers sitting next to it. Dont click on idle, but do click on one of the white boxes below it of the top section.
After you have clicked anywhere in the white section, click on the big blue cross again. it should open another pop-up
screen. On the left section of the pop-up screen, where it says IP adresses / MAC, click on the top set of numbers in the
set of numbers there. ( there should only be like 2 but it is okay if you have more) so make sure it is the top set of numbers,
example - 192.168.1.1
Now once you have clicked on that IP, Another set of numbers should appear on the right. Click on the very top set of
numbers on the right, and click okay. Once you have done that, you have to go back up to the top and on the little set of
pictures, click the
YELLOW CIRCLE WITH THE BLACK TRIANGLES.
Now once you have clicked on the yellow picture there, the idle picture should turn to poisoning. Go turn on your xbox
and sign into XBOX LIVE. Once you have signed on, come back to the computer.
You are now bridged.
But i am also going to tell you HOW to bridge. once you have signed into xbox live, go make a party. MAKE THE PARTY
INVINTE ONLY. If you do not, multiple people will join and it will screw the ip's up. So whoever you want to bridge host,
let them and only them join the party. go back to your computer now. you should see two ip's in the bottom section of the
Cain screen.
BIG TIP.
If you already had the cain screen pulled up when you signed onto xbox live, then the first ip is yours. but if you sign
onto xbox live, make the party with your friend and THEN open the cain screen, the second ip is yours.
So make sure that you sign into xbox live, make the party, make it invite only and invite only the person you want to
bridge. Then go back to your computer, open cain., and the First set of numbers in the lower section of the cain screen is
the person you are bridging.
WRITE HIS IP DOWN NOW.
Now, do you remember the Zone Labs Security you installed ? Open that now. when you open it, on the VERY LEFT you should
see 6 different tabs. Click on the second one called FIREWALL. Now once you have clicked on that, Right above where it says
INTERNET ZONE SECURITY, look to the right and it should have 2 tabs labeled Main ( in white ) and Zones ( in yellow ). Click
on Zones.
At the BOTTOM RIGHT HAND CORNER of the screen, you should see 4 tabs. Click on the one that says ADD >>. When
you click on that, click on the 2nd of the four things it lets you choose from (called IP adress ). Now it should say :
ZONE
IP Adress
DESCRIPTION
Leave the ZONE on trusted.
Enter the IP Adress you wrote down.
Put Watever name you want for description. ( doesnt matter )
Then you click OK.
Have your friend that you are bridging go make a new party, and tell him to send you an invite. Now you can either start
the game, or you can get others to come and play with you. Once you are ready to start the game, go back to your Zone Alarm
Screen and Go to the MAIN TAB at the top next to ZONES. You also have to do the same exact thing for bungies ip adress.
Just add it to trusted and leave it there forever. 65.59.234.161
Make sure the top bar INTERNET ZONE SECURITY is on HIGH.
Make sure the bottom bar TRUSTED ZONE SECURITY is on low.
Now start the game and your friend will get host. If you want to bridge somebody else, you will have to delete the first
friend you put on your Zone Alarm, and do the same thing you did but do it for a different person.
You are now a bridger. I apologize for how long it is, but i have found that other tutorials are not long enough and
dont help as much.
